A Dr Suess (SUWS) Story
« on: December 02, 2004, 09:37:00 PM »
Below is a lengthy file on SUWS.  While I didn?t find anything particular, those in the know will certainly notice some connections with infamous people and programs in the industry. And, I think the following opinion, posted here a couple of months ago, pretty well sums it up:

2004 Aug- Opinion at Fornits
What I do know I general about Aspen is they try to keep their nose clean. I compared them with Enron and WWASPS with the Mafia, several people in the know thought that was an apt description. Aspen's buying up schools right and left, some former WWASPS and not doing a ton to change administration. They are a $100 and growing swiftly corp. and settle cases out of court, so no way of knowing what kind of crap they've been dishing. Their contracts are atrocious and are generally thrown out of court as non-negotiable. Most Aspen programs use the same boilerplate BM model, no communication, no real assessment, most don't have staff competent for what they say they treat. I know of one case which I can't go into detail about yet, but gross malpractice with a suicidal kid and another of severe maltreatment at one of their wilderness programs. I suspect that within the next year or so the Aspen stories will start to come out because of how quick they've been to buy up so many schools.

More on NLP
Neuro linguistic programing is just another way of saying "programming people's mind using words". It was created by two people, John Grinder and Richard Bandler by analyzing successfull people and finding out what they have in common in terms of behaviour.
The modern Hypnotic techniques are part of Neuro linguistic programing and not a very big part as there is much more in persuasion and social influence techniques then just using Hypnotic scripts to achieve hypnotic persuasion, even if instant hypnotic induction is by all means the most dramatic in terms of impressing people.
It is amazing, as people come to NLP and they begin to change, and soon enough they forget about problems they used to have - often forget to such an extent that they wouldn't believe you when you remind them.
So where can this stuff be used?
There are many areas of life where people can apply modern persuasion and social influence techniques. As people are easily controllable by words, the Mental Manipulation methods and rapid hypnosis induction techniques have now been accepted as everyday practice. Using covert hypnosis and more generic neuro linguistic programing techniques - that is also called nlp in sales, mass media, advertising manipulation and politics is the fact of our everyday life. On this site you will find all you need to recognize and understand these coersive persuasion and come up with your own hypnosis induction scripts to make - if you have to - your persuasion tactic much more powerful.
However Neuro Linguistics is not necessarily a bad thing. Because as you learn hypnosis you might discover that Hypnotic techniques and especially neuro linguistic programing you can apply to yourself (you will find some valuable online free self hypnosis resources here) and that is where the real quest for Personal Power begins.
The success psychology had a huge leap during the last decades. We use (just to name few) Core Transformation and eft (emotional freedom technique or (emotional freedom therapy) to blow away phobias and negative memories, we use positive change hypnosis to achieve changes and make them permanent and Timeline Therapy to alter the person's past experience! We can even learn to work directly with our internal organs using State of Power techniques!

Students are provided with opportunities to sacrifice their own wants to serve someone else. It?s about giving back. While on the trail, students participate in outdoor activities and take part in daily group processing sessions, and staff / peer counseling. During intensive therapy or "layover", students participate in individual and group therapy sessions while completing program curricula and therapy assignments.
