Intellectuals are the shoe-shine boys of the ruling elite

It may be getting warmer, but ONE volcano can spew out 20 years of exhaust in one month, consider this: every single dirt clod on this planet is a by product of volcanic activity, all the mountains, also all the valleys, to the bottom of the sea, every bit of it was formed from boiling liquid rock, coming from inside the liquid core. If the greenhouse effect could destroy life on Earth, I think it would have done it by now... in fact, I'm sure it has many times. This planet has been hit from space by burning rock, too. Consider the lowest point on the Earth's surface, The Dead Sea. It didn't get there by water running downhill. Something had to smack it down from above. I'm sure mankind will never come close to the carbon based fuel exhaust put out by that blast, and that's only one of many. But, it gets worse. Not only is every speck of rock and dirt the product of complete meltdown, all the air comes from the same place. So how did all this rock get here anyway? Debris from the REAL nuclear world... STARS. Every molecule of every speck of molten rock on Earth is the direct byproduct of interstellar nuclear fusion, the likes of which we can't even imagine. Take the biggest H-bomb ever imagined, then multiply that times a number higher than any number we've ever conceived of, and that's how much every molecule on this planet has been subjected to. THAT'S HOW IT GOT HERE. That's where "here" came from. Not just "here"... ALL "HERE'S" EVERYWHERE. So, if all this unimaginable nuclear activity on a vast scale produced this planet, AND LIFE ITSELF, then how could the pitiful activities of mankind put any dent in it at all? The only danger we face is from our own stupidity, our obsession to be totally full of corny-ass BULLSHIT, spoon fed to us by a box with light and sound coming out, we look to the box to tell us what to think, since its way too hard to just look around and use common sense.

A million years ago, a major earthquake created the Syrian-African Rift. The Dead Sea sank deep into the valley and was deprived of its natural outflow to the sea. It's located in between the African and European continental plates that are slowly drifting apart. The dead sea will not exist in 50 years if Israel and Jordan don't start working on the problem soon. The two countries redirect fresh water from the Jordan river which has been feeding the sea since it's creation. The dead sea disappearing is strictly a man mad problem. As well, it can be solved by man.

The whole idea that puny little man can have any effect on Earth's biosphere is patently absurd.

Been to LA recently?

The boot of Italy crosses the image in this southwest-looking view taken by the crew of the International Space Station. The spine of Italy is highlighted with snow and the largely cloud-covered Mediterranean Sea is at the top. The Adriatic Sea transverses most of the bottom of the image and Sicily appears top left beyond the toe of the boot (red arrow). The heel lies out of the left side of the image. Corsica and Sardinia appear right of center partly under cloud.

The floor of the Po River valley, lower right, is obscured by haze. Experience gained from similar haze events, in which atmospheric pressure, humidity and visibility and atmospheric chemistry were known, suggests that the haze is industrial smog. Industrial haze from the urban region of the central and upper Po valley accumulates to visible concentrations under conditions of high atmospheric pressure and the surrounding mountains prevent easy dispersal. This view illustrates the markedly different color and texture of cloud versus industrial aerosol haze.

The flow pattern is typical of that seen on most Shuttle flights since the early 1980s and often recorded on film, that is of slow transport of the smog-rich airmass eastward into the Adriatic basin. This is the easiest and largest exit for haze moving away from the industrial region. The sharp seaward edge of the coherent plume of haze parallels the coastline of Italy?the coast can be discerned through the haze, from Venice (lower right) as far as the Gargano Peninsula (left margin, partly hidden under cloud). Note how there is sufficient lift along this seaward edge to generate a small cloud.

There appears to be a smaller haze mass accumulating on the east side of the Apennines between Naples and Cassino (yellow arrows).

Only a liberal nazi like Al Gore would think mankind's rinky dinky power systems can even begin to influence a system as large and rugged as a planet. Absurd delusions of grandeur, just a miniscule puff of hot air,  leave that kind of idiocy to religion where it belongs.

I wonder if he just makes up facts to suit his argument? Like saying that the dead sea was created by a meteor impact?

Why do you say that? There's nothing "stereotypical" about it; plenty of rational-minded folks hate them.

Who do they think they are that they can try and dictate to the truly eduacted with their mindless, idiotic drivel?

Truly disgusting how they sit there complaining as if they know what's best for the rest of us, fuck them.

A lot of them would have you believe that it's OUR FAULT that 911 happened. Fucking MORONS!!!!!

Who cares? I don't get my news from Entertainment Tonight or the Rosie O'Donnel show. If they piss you off, turn off the TV, the only place these supposed "Hollywood liberals" exist.
