The Troubled Teen Industry / Inner Harbor and my church
« on: February 05, 2007, 11:12:26 AM »
I found out with some annoyance and distate that my church is nominally involved with a program. Inner harbor... the pastor was making anouncements about out reach stuff and he said something about some lady doing something for them. The name pricked something in my head so I went home and googled it, imagine my anger when I realized what it was. So, does any one have any information of this program at all? Apprently is located in Douglessville GA. Any one we know go there? fill me in, and I will go to the paster and see if we can server ties, but dont make me go in there on the principle of the thing (though I wll) I need you guys to arm me with information

The Troubled Teen Industry / Warning The Kids

As nobel as that is, quiet honestly I dont think kids care pretty much at all unless it touches them personally, I know I dident care untill I had some one important to me shiped off. Kids have to much to worry about without dumping activism on their plate.

i dont know about closing this place down. I accually live near a devereux facility about 15 minutes away from my house. I dident know what it was either before I looked it up. My friend and I accually argued and he thought it was a water treatment facilty cause there is this big pond out front.

But anyway, apprently this is where borderline crazy people go. There used to not be a gaurd at the facilty (but it was fenced) and some one got out from there and raped a lady from a near by neighboorhood. (only what I hear, I cant support it via a news paper or something like that) Now there is a gaurd group there and all that. Courts send people here, not just kids I dont think, but adults that require mental help as well. Its like a step away from an insane asilum or something like that.

Then again, this place is all over the country, so some places might be diffrent than others, and not have crazy (see mentally disturbed) people in it.

3 Pregnant Teens Attack Utah Group Home Director With Frying Pan, Flee in Stolen Van

Friday , January 19, 2007

AMERICAN FORK, Utah ? Three pregnant teens living in a group home whacked the director in the head with a frying pan, tied her up and fled in a minivan, police said.

The girls, two 15-year-olds and a 16-year-old, are from California, Texas and Illinois. Police believe they left the state after restraining the director with power cords Tuesday and tying up another pregnant teen.

The director "was able to break free and then she went up and untied the 17-year-old female and then they contacted the police," American Fork police Sgt. Shauna Greening said.

New Hope, a privately owned maternity home in Utah County, is a place for struggling pregnant teens, 30 miles south of Salt Lake City.

Girls attend school in the area and are taught prenatal care, child birth, adoption and parenting skills. A call to a phone number listed for New Hope went unanswered Thursday.

But the owner, Spencer Moody, tearfully told a Salt Lake City TV station that he would close the rural home. He said about two dozen girls had given birth after living at New Hope.

"We've had a lot of parents call and thank us for giving their girls back," Moody told KTVX-TV.

Greening would not release the teens' hometowns or the name of the director, whose purse, checkbook, credit cards, cell phone, video camera and 2005 Dodge Caravan were stolen.

"It's been there about three years, and we've never had any problems," Greening said.

The director said "she never had any indication that anything like this was going to happen. They were all sitting around doing homework before the attack occurred," the sergeant said.

The teens were sent to the home by their parents to get them away from problems with drugs or friends, Greening said. Parents have been contacted about the incident.

Detectives were checking for any use of the director's credit cards.

New Hope is among a handful of maternity homes licensed by the Utah Division of Child and Family Services, spokeswoman Carol Sisco said.

END OF NEWS

Ok, so, what do we think, did this person diserve it? Or were these some crazy harmonal pregnate women?

Well, there would be a massive riot most likely, and one of the aliens would be beaten to death, and it would start a intergalactic incient, and well, things go down hill before they get better.

A girl of approximately age sixteen, with odd, Popeye-like bulges on her forearms and lower legs, walks into the forum. On her face is a look of outrage. This is rare for her; normally she considers puny normals to be beneath contempt. This particular topic, though, strikes a raw nerve...

THIS is like where my parents THOUGHT they were sending me? No wonder Luke killed his.

Massive jets of flame shoot out of her hands.

You know what? These people are your problem. Clean up your own mess.

haha wow, some ones a rper

Anyway, I enjoyed thanksgiving, and I think that if I read this it would only make me angry so, no reading it for me, have a nice day every one, and I'll take your word for it.

Ok, guys, listen to your selfs, honestly it sounds like the 60s is back with a vengence, the man is not out to get you, the man makes to much money to care about you or your economicly rejected friends. The fact is the people whos property a riot destory's do care. But pulling appart baricades, destorying street lights and signs, and making a mess and burning things your not hurting the man, your hurting your fellow man.

There is nothing wrong with a desent protest, its when you start breaking, then issues come.

if the police are attacking peaceful protestors they are breaking the law. if the legislature passes laws saying people can only assemble in free speech zones, they are breaking the law, not only that, the first ammendment itself. theres a reason they dont teach constitution in school anymore, if anything they should hand kids one book, the federalist papers.. sigh.

The thing is, once people start destroying public and private property they are no longer peaceful, was seattle peaceful? was L.A. peaceful? the very nature of a riot is violence, why do these people seem to be getting attacked when millions of other americans can get together and protest, or argue, or rally without getting in a fight with the police or rioting? Now I agree with you about the free speech zones, thats just creepy, but that was for a party convention if I'm not mistaken, and its not the norm. I read the federalist papers thank you numbers 10 and 51 anyway, but something you need to realize is your rights end where the next persons begins, and by destorying property your denying some one else their rights.

You will notice when people riot they never destory their own property, but the property of others or the states public property. The very idea of a riot is a violation of other peoples rights.

You seem to think I am commenting on protests, thats not the fact of the matter, people can protest all they want, but when they start rioting, thats when they shouldent whine if they get hit with a taser or tear gased.
