Our president and the preferential treatment that he receive

? In 1968, Bush was admitted to the National Guard on the same day that he applied, despite a year-and-a-half waiting list of more than 100,000 men.

? Eight weeks after joining, he received two months of leave to work on a political campaign. This occurred again in 1970 and 1972.

? After completing basic training, he was commissioned a second lieutenant and admitted to flight school despite having skipped officer candidate school and being totally unqualified.

? Despite a surplus of pilots, he was assigned to the F-102, a plane that was already being phased out, thus assuring him safety from combat.

? In 1972, he was suspended for failing to take his physical exam, which included a drug test. Subsequently, he never flew again.
