There was this one song that we used to sing...I cannot recall what it was called but it had a chorus of

"one of these days I'm going to cross that river sit down sit down by the masters side (some sang "mountainside" by mistake)...forget about all of my heartaches and troubles I'll be at his side..."

And of course the always weird..."Look me over"

"Hey look me over lend me an ear fresh shining clover mornings up to here we don't pass the plates b/c we don't pass the cups I feel a little bit down and then only way is up..."

I got restrained right before open meeting for singing "Str8 is shit" I had to take the microphone and make amends to the entire open meeting...parents and all. when I had the microphone I wanted to say something really cool...but I pussed out and just said "sorry"...I will always regret not sreaming "the mob rules" and running for the door with the microphonein my hand...

The other thing that I always wanted to do in open meeting...but never got up the nerve...was to wait until my folks stood me up in open meeting and scream "COMING HOME" then run right past them and out the door... so many people sleep through open meeting...I wonder how far I would have gotten before they slammed me...

I guess I will never know...

If you would have justice in this world, then begin to see that a human being is not a means to some end.  People are not commodities.  When human beings are just to one another government becomes obsolete and real freedom is born; SPIRITUAL ANARCHY.

I was never restrained....I was entirely too terrified to "misbehave"...

Wet Noodle, believe me, you dont want to hear me sing...

What's all this about a straight bus? What was that? I dont remember that at all.

The parents who lived in Maryland (i.e. Columbia & Greenbelt) had a hard time getting us to the building in the morning. So Stra8 rented a bus that had 2 or 3 stops. The parents would drop us off at the bus. Then the bus would take us to the building in Springfield, Virginia.

The bus was full of mostly 1st and 2nd phasers. We had to get to the bus VERY early in the AM. but once we were on the bus we had at least an hour ride to the building. So we we often slept.

As you can imagine hijinks often ensued on the bus. Once this guy Cu$t Sel$$$s jumped over a seat and started to make out with his misbehavor girlfriend...

They always made the women sit in the back..which worked well if you were lucky enough to have a 1st phase girlfriend...she may "accidentally" rub against you while she was walking to the back of the bus...

I will always recall my misbehavior girl... Jam$$ Urb%^&. She was famoous for grabbing guys crotches when she was led through a door. It wokred well b/c her Oldcomers had her beltloop so they couldn't stop her...and the guys wouldn't know how to handle it...by the time they realized what had happened she was through the door...

I'm so glad I've finally found a place where I can get together with my old friends and talk about all the songs we sang and the good times we had.

Yes, we were allowed to sing on the straight bus.  My clearest straight bus memory was that someone, somehow, communicated to me that Brent from the Grateful Dead had just died.  I remember being devastated and unable to tell a sole why.

Thank goodness I was overage and could drive.  My time on the straight bus was brief.

I wish we sang American Pie... I used to think of the lyrics to that song as we sang Zipidedoodah for the 15 time in a row..

Oh geez.. Emirra.. I must apologize to you if you were in springfield straight during my time there.  zippity do da was the ONLY song I EVER asked for my entire time there.  Didn't matter what kind of rap it was.. I have no idea why I did that.
