The primary purpose of The Seed is to assist its clients with first obtaining then maintaining a lifestyle free of all mood altering chemicals. The Seed is supported by donations from clients, friends and other independent sources.
Founded in 1970, The Seed has served over 7,000 clients. Treatment at The Seed lasts as long as necessary for a client to assume and maintain a drug free lifestyle. Upon discharge by the staff, a client is followed at three (3) months, six (6) months and one (1) year intervals to evaluate their progress or difficulty.
The Seed has a ninety percent "success rate". Clients are free to return to The Seed at anytime to attend support groups in order to maintain their sobriety.
The staff of The Seed has worked with the program for twenty-one to twenty-seven years. Housed in a spacious, meticulously renovated building in downtown Fort Lauderdale, The Seed is available for persons who desire to make a serious commitment to their sobriety.
