: The answers are provided by Reverend Doctor V. Miller Newton during deposition for the Fred Collins trial on 2-23-83.

: Q. . . what were the periods of time without proper sleep [regarding marathoning]?
: A. Oh, a couple, three days. Medically that is of no harm whatsoever. I am acquianted with sleep research and it's not medically harmful but I just don't like it. Kids need four or five hours sleep at night so I put a change to that.

: Q. Can you cite to us one of them, one of the places where it cites sleep research?
: A. One is Substance Abuse by Sidney Cohen, a psychiatrist of the National Institute of Mental Health.

: Author's note: Ann Landers wrote the forward to Getting Tough on Gateway Drugs: A Guide for the Family by Robert L. DuPont, Jr., M.D. The back cover is endorsed by Joyce Nalepka of the national Federation of Parents for Drug-Free Youth and by Sidney Cohen [see Newton above and sleep deprivation].

He didn't contradict himself much during this trial did he? (sarcasm, of course) Not only that, I've never read anything but how important sleep is for good health, especially for teens. He never changed anything, marathoning was always practiced. But back to your point. This sure looks like a huge extortion ring to me. Everyone scatching everyone elses back, or more accurately, everyone working together to get their share of the Billion dollar drug war pie. Am I right?
