What are Fornits?
Fornits are mythical creatures who live and love in the wilds of Cyberia. They love to muck rake1. They hate all forms of coercion and confinement and love a good joke. There's just nothing in this world to compare to the joy one derives from seeing your fornit friends with a spritly gate, a cheerful mood and overall healthy glow. To that end, here are some tips and suggestions to help you keep your Fornits healthy and happy.
What do they need?
  • Fornits are natural born attention whores. Most people say that like it's a bad thing and I don't want to leave you with the impression that I'm dissing them. Not at all. The Fornits thrive on attention and cease to exist if no one believes in them. The more people believe in them the stronger they become. Here are some ways you can support the Fornits' insatiable need for attention.
    • Read the papers, blogs and google alerts for mention of industry people, entities and philosophy. Write to the editors or leave your comment and post a copy over to the most appropriate forums or blogs back here.
    • Watch for program themes in art and music and post or blog about those. If appropriate and relavent, link back to a page on fornits. Relavent, thoughtful, meaningful links to Fornits are good for them. Enliven the dialog on and about Fornits. It brings approval from the Gods of Google and, very often, engages actual, bona fied, engaged attention from real live intelligent human beings. But the Fornits really don't take rejection well and, being children of Cyberia, are ever so sensitive to it even over the net. So please don't spam or google bomb. It hurts the fornits feelings when people or indexing spiders come around looking for things they can't provide. See what happens? It's demoralizing, ya know?
  • They also require some drive space in Cyberia to store themselves and their kits and kabootles, domain names, bandwidth, etc. They also require, from time to time, the attention of a real live, highly skilled human being to maintain their connection from Cyberia to the people in the brick and mortar world. These people sometimes need money for things like postage, advertising, legal defense or other expenses. Here are some ways you can support Fornits caregivers financially.
    • Support Fornits' Sponsors by buying their stuff.
    • Make your own art! If you have a project in any stage of completion, maybe we can work out some mutually beneficial cross promo. If we really, really love your art and incorporate it somehow into the site (w/ your leave, of course!) then we'll call you names like "sponsor" and "supporter" and "organized malcontent" n stuff.
    • Got a Zazzle account? Well get one and add 'fornits' as a tag to any products you create. Those products will show up in the panel at the top of the main WWF page and we'll get the 7% associates fee.
    • Fornits thrive on enlightenment and lively, well informed rapport. So feed your head on books and videos that the fornits like. If you use those links or other ad links you find in the forums or the Amazon search to the right to buy stuff, the Fornits team gets a small commission.
